| Château
Méric is located in the head of the Medoc
vineyard (see the map), approximately
6 km far from the Estuary of the river Gironde and 12 km far from
the ocean.

The
vineyard is planted on a Medoc brow 14 meters over
the sea level. This privileged situation, between the estuary and
the ocean, profits by a microclimate enhancing the bouquet of the
noble vine-plants and allowing the maturity of the grapes.

The
soil, composed of sandy gravels on the surface and
river Garonne gravels in depth, brings delicacy, smoothness and
tastefulness to the CM wines;
The
Château Méric
are distinguishable by their fine aroma of ripe
fruits, marked with cherry and dried plum flavours, by a slightly
amber-coloured ruby red tint, by tannins flavoured with vanilla
and by a long lasting taste in the mouth. Oxygenating the wine by
opening the bottle one or two hours before drinking will create
the best conditions to appreciate the CM with pleasure and restraint.

The
various vine-plants involved are
shared in strict compliance with the proportion of the Medoc tradition,
i.e. 55 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 35 % Merlot and 10 % Petit Verdot,
the complementary combination of each kind of plants ensuring the
obtaining of the optimum composition, balance and nobility, necessary
for the good ageing of the wine.

Since
1868, this famous cru Bourgeois has
been quoted in the second edition of the Ferret (specialised wine
publication) at a time when delicacy and silky taste of those wines
were already appreciated.
Present
technologies work a real revival of the CM in full
compliance with the Medoc tradition :

- Wine making process is achieved in stainless steel tanks (for
perfect healthy conditions);
- Maceration processes are long, between 20 and 30 days; they
are controlled by mean of thermo-regulation (permanent checking
of the temperatures);
- A third of all the wine-barrels, made of French oak wood, is
renewed each year and the whole production is there completed
during 12 to 15 months depending of the vintages.
- The
plantation density is 6600 plants per Hectare.
